Isaac is a playwright and producer who studied at the University of Waterloo’s Theatre and Drama program, completed one year at Humber College studying Film and TV, and has a Diploma in Child and Youth Work through Sheridan College.
THEATRE
For the past ten years, Isaac has been the Artistic Director of Page1 Theatre, focussing his energy on growing the company’s annual festival OutFest. His hard work resulted in successful funding from Canadian Heritage in January 2023. Isaac’s most recent work includes, Someone Is Lying, a show about asylum seekers, misinformation, and telling the truth. The show had a workshop presentation in 2025. He has also been the text-developer on There Are No Gays In Chechnya. A play about the ongoing gay purge in the country of Chechnya. The project includes verbatim testimony from survivors and was presented as a co-production with MTSpace as part of IMPACT, an international theatre festival in September 2023. A previous reading was presented at Eastern Front Theatres STAGES festival in June 2022.
Isaacs solo show, Mr. Wonderful and I, was awarded an Ontario Arts Council Recommender Grant from Roseneath Theatre and a grant from the Waterloo Arts Fund in 2021. The project was selected to be part of the Queer Toronto Theatre Festival in the fall of 2020, then postponed until 2021. The show premiered at the Hamilton Fringe as a Digital piece and then at the Halifax Fringe in September 2021.
FILM
In 2013, Isaac’s screenplay Tomorrow, advanced into the second round of the Bluecat International Screenplay Contest. The screenplay finished in the top 100, out of 700 international submissions from the drama category.
