THE PROJECT
MAN and his dog Sheldon have recently moved but never quite got the chance to say goodbye. As MAN settles into his own apartment and starts unpacking, he can’t help but look back on his life. He decides to write a couple of letters to say goodbye or to make amends with the different people who have made an impact in his life.
But the process is anything but smooth because, after twenty-eight years, it's difficult to understand what really happened and to decide who to contact. MAN is relying on a new acquaintance to assist him with the process and to help him understand the truth.
Mr. Wonderful and I is a journey about looking back and moving on, an exploration into discovering one’s own mental health, how to thrive beyond a diagnosis, and the power of unconditional love.
*Note - the full show is 60 - 70 minutes in length. We are presenting a 40 min condensed version.
Initial dramaturgy for Mr. Wonderful and I was supported by Kira Meyers-Guiden
This is a Canadian Actors’ Equity Association production under the Festival Policy and is produced with the co-operation of ACTRA Toronto.

“It’s difficult to not spoil anything with a piece as raw and honest as this. I first thought it was about a man and his dog finding a new home after a breakup. I was pleasantly surprised to find more depth as the show progressed.”
“This method of filmed performance, usually distances and disassociates but remarkably, this time, makes the journey far more accessible and relatable.”
