April 13 - 19, 2026
Welcome / Pjila’dik to outfest!
Celebrating ten years of incredible storytelling, new ideas, and resiliency!
With local, regional, and national artists performing at venues across the city over six days, OutFest proves why it is the largest Queer performance festival in Mi’kma’ki / Atlantic Canada.
From a Main Stage production that was presented as a Staged Reading in 2022, to five new and exciting pieces on our Emerging Stage, to the launch of our Open Stage; OutFest 2025 will be presenting a variety of Queer stories and artists from across the country. From communities in Newfoundland, Ontario, and at home here in Nova Scotia, come experience the inter-connected stories of our community.
OutFest 2025 also sees the return of our Comedy Stage with award winning comics, an expanded Youth Stage which includes youth improv with the MacPhee Centre, and a new YA Musical for Queer + Trans Youth in partnership with Halifax Theatre For Young People, and a double bill for our closing night Music Stage. There is so much to see…and that’s not all!
We’ve partnered with Stardust restaurant and bar to co-host an Opening Night dinner that is open to everyone in the community. Also, during the week of OutFest, folks can bring their tickets before or after a show to grab a drink or something to eat, and save on their meal. Or you can stop by our Makers Market with Different Folks to purchase some local food, gifts, clothing, and more!
There are so many ways to enjoy OutFest this year. Take a look at the festival lineup and grab your Early Bird Tickets in advance so that you don’t miss a thing!
JOIN US ON MONDAY, APRIL 19 FOR OPENING NIGHT!
In partnership with Halifax Pride, the event will take place from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm, and is FREE/Open to everyone. There will also be Drag performance by Emma, and Beef Patti. Learn about the festival, meet the artists, and come celebrate the start of OutFest.
